Sacral Chakra (Swadhisthana)
LOCATION: located just below the navel.
DESCRIPTION: This is your manifestation, intimacy, desires, and creative energy chakra. When balanced you’ll be able to express what you want, have innovative ideas, and a healthy sex drive.
CRYSTALS: to help with the balance of this chakra use ‘orange’ crystals, such as tiger’s eye, citrine, and amber. Yellow topaz is a great crystal for use on both the solar and sacral plexuses.
BODY LINKS: the reproductive organs, spleen, gallbladder, and kidneys. Imbalances in the sacral chakra may present as symptoms of eating disorders, depression, urinary tract infections, candida, or alcoholism.
FOODS: to help activate and balance this chakra, orange foods and spicy foods seem to do well. Oranges, cantaloupe, ginger, mangos, cayenne, pumpkin, sweet potato, carrots and jalapenos are a few.
HERBS: the hormonal system needs balancing and clearing. Ginseng, ashwagandha, and maca root can help by balancing the hormones. Hibiscus tea is also a good drink to help balance.
YOGA EXERCISE: Yoga poses that strengthen the core and stretch the hips will help the sacral chakra. Try plank pose, boat pose, hanuman asana (splits), and warrior II, which stretches the hips well.
DANCE can also help with balancing and is a fun way to get moving. Body movements help balance the chakras.
